You fool! No man can kill me!

Back from my long, unwanted internet hiatus. It was terrible. Can you imagine the torture? Thankfully, gaming has kept me sane all this while.

I know I promised some of you that I would write on some very important things. Now that I am back to bumming (yes, after two years, I am back), I should have every chance to write.

However, with keeping myself sane, I acquired an addiction at the same time - to BFME. BFME or The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth is an RTS game not unlike Age of Empires, Age of Mythology, Battle Realms, and Warcraft III. If you loved playing AOE back in hi
gh school (if you are my age), and loved the LOTR films, you are going to love BFME. As a huge plus, if you loved reading the appendices of the LOTR books, you are going to love The Battle for Middle Earth II – which focuses on the War of the North away from the pesky Fellowship. And it gets better. BFME2's expansion: The Rise of the Witch King is based on the events before The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings – taking you into the history behind Angband’s rise.

My addiction has run so deep that I have dreamt nothing but my conquests of Middle Earth. And I have not even gone to playing BFME2 (which I am dying to play). Unfortunately, the game does not accept MX400 video cards (of which I have currently installed). By Sunday, I hope that my father (who is the real techie) would have finished upgrading the PC so I can also play Conquest.

I just love this. I feel young again! Goodbye professional, premature grown-up! For now.

  1. glad to see you're back, aldrin! :D i trust you gave those globe guys a piece of your mind? ;)

what happened btw? about your bum? er, i mean, you becoming a bum? too personal? ;)

about LOTR, i wish i could say i'm a tolkien fanatic. but the truth is when i said i was an LOTR fanatic, i meant only the movies. i just couldn't sit through his books. wehehe! one day, i may just do that.

incidentally, which part of the series didja like best? :)

  2. Haha! I quit my job, remember? I wanted a rest from all the office work.

Globe: Actually it was my Mum who gave them a piece of our minds. Ehehe... Medyo erratic pa nga ngayon ang net eh. Hindi palaging mayro'n.

LOTR: Neither have I. Hahaha! I've browsed some of the books but I haven't really read them. I'm not a big fan of novels; most of the books I read are reference books. I like Tolkien because his novels are more mythological than the usual novels we have today. But I've read The Silmarillion though. Very mythological. I loved it! :)

And I only knew of him through the movies. Hehe! My favourite film is The Two Towers.

  3. ako, i loved fellowship of the ring the most. :P

i like it best when a story, an adventure, is just starting. if the beginning of the story isn't established well, it loses me completely. wehehe.

my problem with many fantasy series is they're always so freaking long. epic kung epic. i tend to like sci-fi novels (orson scott card is my hero) more than fantasy stuff. :)

    ps:
enjoy your bum life! i sometimes wish i was a bum too. nothing to do all day, no schedule to restrict you, no need to wake up before lunchtime. waah!
